Project drawings of all kinds can work for quoting

Friday, October 30, 2009 by Chris Andrews
When I work up a quote for a science lab furniture customer, I usually ask for some kind of sketch or drawing of their ideas. The lab workstation ideas come to me in all ways...by fax, scanned in an email, by US snail mail, carrier pigeon....OK, maybe not by carrier pigeon but you get the idea. actual customer drawingWe get everything from stick people and squiggly lines that look like modern art all the way to intricate Autocad drawings that my computer can't even open and read. But you know what, they all work and we are able to layout labs from any kind of plan we get.

People ask for wood lab furniture, plastic laminate lab furniture, used lab furniture, everything but steel lab furniture. Once I design their lab storage needs with Looped Logic steel lab furniture, they almost always see the light and realized that steel science lab furniture really does work better in an a work environment.

And if they don't see the light, either they are working in the dark (which some companies like to keep us, I've worked for a few), or they wear sunglasses indoors like Jack Nicholson...never could figure out why he did that, I guess I'm not cool like Jack. If he was a scientist, he would probably want a lab cart made from cardboard or something, certainly not Looped Logic steel lab furniture.....now that's cool.
